Job Description: The candidate for the post of Counsellor will be responsible to provide clinical counselling to patient (Cancer, psychiatry, cardiac, neurology etc.) and Caregivers in Municipal and Charitable Hospitals of Mumbai & will have to perform following roles;
- Counselling services for patients, care givers and family members to deal with the different disease at various stages. (Individual counselling, Group Counselling, Special awareness sessions etc)
- Counselling service for other old age home or another charitable organisation.
- Financial assistance:
- Assess the patient for financial assistance (Chemotherapy / Radiation therapy / Education / Surgery or any other support)
- Facilitate, coordinate and monitor the complete process of financial assistance as developed by the organization in the service of poor and needy.
- Guide the patient and caregiver for available services relevant to facilitate the treatment process.
- Establish linkages with other allied services available within the hospital premises and provided by other likeminded groups in and around city to respond to various needs of patients and their care givers.
- Undertake home visits for financial assessment / counselling in case of need.
- Develop, nurture & promote relevant Support Groups for patient or caregivers.
- Documentation and report writing:
- Keep proper record of beneficiary at each work place (Hospital/ Accommodation Centre/ Palliative Care centre / NGO etc.)
- Data entry of the same in the software developed by the organization.
- Generate periodic reports and furnish the same to the respective hospital.
Required skills and experience:
Academic Qualification:
- A Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of Experience
Language requirement:
- Proficiency in English, Marathi and Hindi
Other requirements:
- Minimum commitment of 3 years
- Operational computer skills – Ms Office and internet
- Sound subject knowledge and interest in clinical Counselling
- Compassionate approach
- Readiness to work in municipal / government / charitable hospital
- Readiness to conduct outreach sessions to stakeholders
- Presentable personality and excellent communication skills
